Who We Are

We launched Su’Coy Community Learning Center in 2020, as we saw the world turn upside down and our local communities suffer.

We noticed a paradox.

Our hard-working neighbors faced the stress and uncertainty of unemployment and dead-end jobs. At the same time, the HVAC and construction industries flourished, with employers desperate to find skilled workers to fill high-paying jobs in the trades.

We knew there had to be a better way. So our mission quickly took shape.

We vowed to connect young Washingtonians with promising careers in the HVAC industry through hands-on, engaging, and community-focused training programs. Our goal is not just to improve HVAC skills but to enhance the overall quality of life for our students and their families, and to put the National Capitol region’s workers on a path to in-demand careers, entrepreneurship and the pride that comes with serving others.

That’s why we offer practical, hands-on HVAC training that meets the specific needs of both workers and employers in Washington, DC and Prince George’s County.

Our Founder

Derrick Conyers

Meet Derrick Conyers, the dedicated founder of Su’Coy Community Learning Center. A lifelong Washingtonian, Derrick resides in Prince George’s County and is committed to serving the vibrant communities of Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

In 1996, Derrick established Su’Coy Heating, AC & Duct Cleaning to ensure no one suffers from inadequate HVAC services. Today, he runs one of the region’s top HVAC companies, with hundreds of loyal customers and a�sterling five-star reputation. He serves as a leader and role model for his students, setting the standard for how HVAC services should be delivered.

Driven by his commitment to education and community service, Derrick founded Su’Coy Community Learning Center in 2020. He aimed to bridge the gap between the rising demand for skilled HVAC professionals and the need for meaningful career opportunities for young people. Through Su’Coy CLC, Derrick has trained and mentored hundreds of aspiring HVAC technicians, providing them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in a growing industry.
